Hola! I'M Mimmo Morizzi

Mimmo Morizzi, born in Oppido Mamertina (RC), began photographing at the age of 10. After high school he studied mathematics and was a researcher in astrophysics, later a choir artist at the Teatro Massimo V. Bellini in Catania. Work in the theater offers him the possibility of having an exceptional place for new photographic research and experimentation, allowing him, among other things, to photograph companies such as the Harlem Theater in New York, the Lyon Opera Ballet, the Royal Ballet in London, the Victor Ullate company of Madrid, the Marta Graham company of New York, etc.. After this experience he dedicated himself to a new research, on the one hand a synthesis of the accumulated baggage, on the other the need for a different "expressive language"... photographic in the medium but pictorial in conception and composition... which culminates in the exhibition "Scena D' Eros and Alchemy”. During this journey he also diversified into other genres such as landscape, abstract, street, fashion and others. Lately his research has expanded and resulted in a work Work in Progress, combining the photos with a series of installations that become both props and works in themselves.
